About the Route

In September 2009, MoneySpinners completed a Great British cycling challenge - Land's End to John O'Groats. A journey every cyclist should make at least once in their lifetime!

The route covered nearly 1000 miles (978 to be precise), through 3 countries in just 10 days. From the toe of England to the very tip of Scotland! The entire length of mainland Britain.

The shortest possible road route from Lands End to John O'Groats is 874m but this uses main roads and is only used with police escort for breaking records. The route MoneySpinners took was planned and arranged by Classic Tours, who are highly experienced in organising charity bike rides. They devised a carefully chosen route avoiding heavy traffic and busy towns where possible, while still giving riders some wonderful rewards along the way.

Classic Tours also took care of all of the travel and accommodation arrangements and provided all of the ride support including a truck, bike mechanic and doctor.

Our thanks to Classic Tours for their support throughout the 2009 event.
